The Bay Area Came to Drive

Demo Days Festival filled Alameda Point with two days of hands-on vehicle experiences on August 22 and 23, 2026. Cars and trucks across gas, hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and fully electric powertrains shared the festival with motorcycles, off-road vehicles, micromobility, new technology, and plenty to explore between drives.

The setting fit the Bay Area well. Attendees could move from a vehicle test drive to an e-bike course, check out emerging transportation technology, talk with experts, or spend time comparing vehicles they might actually consider owning. For shoppers, enthusiasts, and people simply curious about what is changing, the weekend offered a chance to experience those choices in person.

GreenCars at Demo Days San Francisco

GreenCars gave attendees two ways to go deeper during the weekend.

At EV Reality Check Powered by GreenCars, a 15-speaker lineup tackled the practical questions that come with considering an electric or electrified vehicle. Conversations covered charging, real-world range, ownership costs, and what living with an EV or plug-in hybrid can look like day to day. The stage gave attendees a place to hear different perspectives, ask questions, and continue conversations between vehicle demos.

The GreenCars Matchmaker added a more personal layer to the experience. Participants answered questions about how and where they drive, charging access, budget, vehicle needs, and their comfort with reducing gasoline use. Matchmaker then recommended electric, plug-in hybrid, hybrid, and fuel-efficient vehicles that fit those priorities, giving attendees a useful shortlist to explore during and after the festival.

GreenCars was joined at Alameda Point by BMW of San Francisco and Diablo Subaru of Walnut Creek, with each dealership bringing a different approach to electrified driving.

BMW of San Francisco featured a 2026 BMW X5 plug-in hybrid, while Diablo Subaru brought the all-electric 2026 Subaru Trailseeker. Having the two SUVs side by side made for an easy comparison between plug-in hybrid flexibility and a fully electric powertrain. Attendees spent time exploring both vehicles, sitting inside, asking questions, and talking directly with dealership representatives about how each could fit into everyday driving.

The interest went beyond browsing. More than 150 attendees signed up for test drives with the participating dealerships during the weekend, giving the store teams an opportunity to continue those conversations beyond the event.

Their involvement added something important to the GreenCars experience. Attendees could learn about electrification through EV Reality Check, narrow their options with Matchmaker, then speak with local dealership teams about actual vehicles. It made the path from education to shopping feel more connected and more useful.

Event Overview

Demo Days Festival puts vehicles and transportation technology in an environment where people can actually experience them. Instead of limiting shoppers to static displays, the festival brings different powertrains, vehicle categories, and mobility options together with dedicated courses and hands-on demonstrations.

At Alameda Point, that format gave Bay Area attendees room to compare familiar choices with newer ones without separating electric transportation from the rest of the automotive landscape. GreenCars helped add context along the way, connecting the vehicles people experienced with practical information they could use in their own shopping decisions.
