As electrified vehicles become standard, events like this help students understand why EV and hybrid knowledge will set the next generation apart.

On March 4, 2026, students at Waukesha County Technical College (WCTC) had the opportunity to explore the future of automotive technology during an eight hour educational event hosted in partnership with Wilde Toyota. The event introduced students to Wilde Toyota’s extensive lineup of electric and hybrid vehicles, offering a hands-on look at how electrification is reshaping the modern automotive industry.

WCTC’s Automotive Maintenance and Technology programs already serve as a valuable talent pipeline for Wilde Toyota, with many graduates moving directly into dealership roles. By bringing EV and hybrid technology into the conversation, the event highlighted how the skills students are learning today will translate into tomorrow’s service bays and showrooms.

Throughout the day, students were able to interact with vehicles, learn about hybrid and electric powertrains, and ask questions about the evolving technical demands of the industry. For many, it was their first close look at the systems that are rapidly becoming a larger part of the automotive landscape.

The event also underscored an important differentiator for students entering the field: understanding electrified vehicles. As dealerships like Wilde Toyota continue expanding their EV and hybrid offerings, technicians and automotive professionals with knowledge of electrification will be increasingly valuable.

By connecting classroom learning with real-world technology, the collaboration between WCTC and Wilde Toyota demonstrates how education and industry partnerships can help prepare the next generation of automotive professionals.
