Lexus redesigned the RZ’s battery electric system for 2026, resulting in increased motor output and improved range.
In the RZ 350e, which uses a single electric motor to drive the front wheels, that means a boost in system output from 201 horsepower to 221, and an increase in EPA estimated range from 266 miles to 300. While those numbers are up, there is one that is down — acceleration. The 2026 RZ 350e FWD can go from zero to 60 mph in 7.2 seconds, down from the 7.4 seconds required in the old model.
The dual-motor 2026 RZ 450e AWD holds the line in terms of output, with the same 308 horsepower on tap as last year’s model but sees a massive improvement in electric range. Whereas the previous RZ 450e AWD could only muster 220 EPA estimated miles in its most efficient form, the 2026 model can travel up to 260 EPA estimated miles between charges.
Despite having the same power as last year, the 2026 RZ 450e AWD is quicker than before. The sprint from zero to 60 mph is achieved in 4.9 seconds, just edging out the 5 seconds required by the previous model to accomplish the same feat.
New 550e F Sport AWD Model Injects Even More Performance
For those craving a more exhilarating driving experience from their electric SUV, Lexus is introducing a new performance-oriented RZ trim for the 2026 model year.
It’s called the 550e F Sport AWD and leapfrogs the other RZ models in terms of power, with a total system output of 402 horsepower. That’s an improvement of more than 30%, allowing the 2026 RZ 550e F Sport AWD to spring from a standstill to 60 mph in just 4.1 seconds.
To further elevate the RZ 550e F Sport AWD’s fun-to-drive quotient, Lexus equipped the electric SUV with a new system that virtually replicates gear shifts. Called M Mode, the electronic system allows the driver to mimic gear changes via the RZ’s steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters.
To look the part, the RZ 550e F Sport AWD wears sportier duds than other RZ models. Exterior styling upgrades include a revised grille, unique front and rear bumper moldings, a rear spoiler, F Sport badging, and 20-inch wheels. The RZ 550e F Sport AWD is also offered in an exclusive color — a semi-metallic light gray named Wind.
As you’d expect, the RZ 550e F Sport AWD’s extra horsepower depletes the battery’s energy reserves at a faster rate, netting a total range of 225 EPA estimated miles, the least of all RZ models.
Tesla Supercharger-Capable Out of the Box
All versions of the 2026 RZ are equipped with a North American Charging System (NACS) charging port, replacing the CCS port in the last model. That change means the 2026 RZ can use a Tesla Supercharger without an adaptor. When plugged into a DC fast charger, Lexus says the RZ can go from a 30% to 80% charge in as little as 30 minutes.

Those using a Level 1 or Level 2 AC charger should spend less time charging their RZ, thanks to a higher capacity 11-kilowatt onboard charger, up from 7 kW in the prior model year.

Subtle Interior Upgrades for 2026
Not much is different inside the RZ, but Lexus has made a few subtle changes. Lexus improved the RZ’s Dynamic Sky panoramic roof for 2026 by making the glass panel more shaded when opaque and clearer to see through when transparent. Other changes include laser-etched Ultrasuede door trim and ambient lighting that can change shadow patterns to give the illusion of movement.
The RZ 550e F Sport AWD gets a few unique touches compared to other RZ models, including black Ultasuede trim with blue accent stitching, F-Sport scuff plates, a steering wheel-mounted F Sport badge, aluminum pedals, and a unique micro-geometric pattern on the center console.
Pricing and Availability
As of May 2025, Lexus has not announced pricing for the 2026 RZ. The Japanese-built 2026 RZ is scheduled to go on sale at Lexus dealers nationwide later this year.
