Honda’s First Electric Motorcycle Arrives
While most of the EVs seen at the Milan Auto Show brandished four wheels this September, the new Honda E-Motorcycle only sports two. This is the long-awaited production version of the company’s EV Fun concept that was teased to the press last year.
While we have slung our legs over a number of e-Bikes and scooters over the past year, Team GreenCars is looking forward to trying out full-sized electric motorcycles like the Harley-Davidson Livewire bikes and this bold beast from Honda.

Be The Wind
Here is a highway ready, high-performance street bike that also sports the ability to step up to a DC Fast Charger for wicked quick charging. We think Honda’s choice to go for Level 3 charging is the right stuff to get more serious riders on two electrified wheels.
Teaser images from Honda show a European CCS Combo 2 charge port for Level 3 charging but Honda is still mum on the details. All it has mentioned is that the range for this model will be sufficient for urban use.
Similar in overall look to the company’s EV Fun concept bike, the new highway bike showcases sport bike styling that’s similar to Honda’s current line of gas-powered CB street bikes. That puts it in league with the Honda CBR650R and we’re guessing that this thing will run the wheels off of ICE motorcycles when it comes to performance.
Still, we are waiting to find out how competitive this thing will be in the real world when compared to gas bikes. There’s no word out yet on battery size, motor size, range, and price. Honda will have to hit all four of those specs perfectly to get riders on board.
Honda is promising official details soon at the EICMA show in Milan this November and GreenCars will keep you posted.
