How often does an electric car need to be serviced?

Follow the service schedule in your EV’s owner’s manual. There is no universal once-a-year interval for every electric car. EVs do not need engine oil changes, spark plugs, or many other combustion-engine services, but they still need routine inspections and wear-item maintenance.

Common items include tire rotations and pressure checks, brake inspections and brake fluid as specified, cabin air filters, wiper blades and washer fluid, coolant or thermal-system service when the manufacturer requires it, the 12-volt battery, suspension and steering, and recalls or software updates. Service timing varies by model and mileage.
