As of this writing in August, automakers are really pushing savings on leasing an electric vehicle because the federal tax incentives of up to $7,500 on a new EV will end on September 30th, 2025. But before that happens, you can still get $7,500 off the price of an EV lease.
In the first half of 2025 over 607,000 electric vehicles were sold here in the U.S. and sales are really picking up right now due to the coming loss of the federal EV tax credits.
The best lease deals with the lowest prices are available in 17 states that have Zero-Emission Vehicles mandates. California leads the way as well as Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minesota, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, and Washington.
According to Cox Automotive, EV incentives have hit an all-time high of 14.8 percent with an average transaction price savings of nearly $8,500. Auto brands across the board have announcing record EV sales over the last few months.
General Motors and Honda are leading the pack with the Chevrolet Equinox Crossover EV and Honda’s Prologue EV. The Equinox brought in over 8,500 sales in July alone, setting a new record for non-Tesla EV sales. Its year-to-date total is over 36,000 units.
Meanwhile, the Honda Prologue EV has sold a record 22,635 units in America in the first half of 2025. It sold 6,315 units in July alone. Both cars are family-friendly all-electric crossovers that are available for lease at under $300 per month.

2025 Honda Prologue EV for $159 per Month
Honda listed the Prologue EV for lease as low as just $159 per month in the state of California and other ZEV states. That low dough lease is a 24-month contract with $1,099 due at signing. In other states, Honda starts EV leases on the Prologue at just $229 per month.
2024 Acura ZDX EV for $299 per Month
The ZDX is a premium luxury all-electric SUV that can be leased for just $299 per month in California and other ZEV states. The single motor rear-wheel drive version gets the best range at an EPA estimated range rating of 313 miles.
