The electric battery hides under the rear seat and doesn’t affect the roomy interior. Driving modes include an all-electric EV Mode as well as Sport Mode for performance and Eco Mode for efficiency. There’s a 7-inch infotainment screen and Toyota’s Safety Sense driver assist features includes a pre-collision system, lane-departure warning, road sign recognition, and adaptive cruise control.

Plus, you can buy an Ioniq in hybrid, plug-in hybrid, or all-electric variants (no other vehicle currently offers all three powertrain options). The 139 horsepower Ioniq Hybrid gives you an 8-inch touchscreen that is Android Auto and Apple CarPlay capable and such driver assist features as forward collision avoidance and pedestrian detection. The battery warranty is good for 10 years or 100,000 miles. The Ioniq was named the 2020 Best Hybrid Car by U.S. News & World Report.
